I can't resist making a post right now because I just met one of my heroes.
I just met Mick Jones of
The Clash.
Mick Jones is on the far left. (OMGWTF I just met him. That is so surreal.)
If you don't know who The Clash are, you really should, because they were one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time. Chances are, even if their name isn't familiar to you, you still know one of their more famous songs (Rock the Casbah, Should I Stay Or Should I Go, London Calling...).
So. Mick Jones was the lead guitarist, and he's now in a band called Carbon/Silicon (with Tony James, a guy from Sigue Sigue Sputnik and Generation X-- a bit of trivia for any 80's music fans out there).
I just got back from seeing Carbon/Silicon in concert, and as if my insane "Did he just make eye contact with me?!" wasn't enough, afterwards I ended up meeting the band.
I touched a member of The Clash!!!!
(...which isn't actually so weird and/or insane if you know me, because then you'll know that I have a few bands/musicians that I am very passionate about, and getting to meet any of them is just an amazing experience.)
