New heights of insanity this week... I made a fanvid of Johnny and Helena (Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett), set to "Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl.
They're an Irish band, so here's a late St. Patrick's Day gift for you all. It's called "Fairytale of Fleet Street."
For anyone who doesn't know, it's a beautiful, albeit rather twisted duet where the man and woman start singing insults at one another. In the original video, they shove each other around a bit and, at the end, they waltz.
The waltzing part is famous. At Pogues concerts, Shane MacGowan always dances at the end with whichever female singer they have at the time.
One dysfunctional relationship deserves another, so it's perfect for Sweeney/Lovett, y/y? :)
