So no matter how much I try to make this entry sound like I'm NOT trying to brag, it's going to sound like I am... just a warning..
So today after my class I got home and was bored so I decided to go up to my mom's work and visit her during her lunch break. I went with her into the teacher's lounge and I talked with her and about eight other of the female teachers. As I was leaving a woman stopped me, I've seen her around Chesaning before but I didn't ever know who she was. And this is how the conversation went...
Woman: I don't think I know who you are
Sandra: Oh, hi, I'm Sandra.
Woman: Sandra?
Sandra: I'm Marcy's daughter
Woman: OH!! Right..
Sandra: *smiles*
Woman: Wait, weren't you in the Showboat pageant?
Sandra: Yes.
Woman: Oh I remember you now!...YOU should have won!!
Sandra: Oh..?
Woman: Yes! I remember now, I had it pinned as Betsy, Erica and then YOU as queen.
Sandra: Oh.. well thank you!
Woman: Yes, my friends and I thought you were better than that Douglas girl that won!
Sandra: *laughs* Oh well thank you very much.
It just brightened my day to know that almost 10 months from the pageant, I still have people telling me that. It made me feel a lot better. Didn't want to brag, but it's just funny how still to this day people can remember me as "the girl who should have won". But it's pretty sad when the audience chooses someone who they don't even know over the person who actually DID win.. Just a thought.. Kinda reminds me of the lady that talked to me after the pageant and told me I should do Miss Saginaw County because she was a pageant consultant. Maybe someday I will do it, who knows...
