Last week, I finally got to see "The Da Vinci Code". It had been a while, since I'd read the book - 5 months to be exact - but I definitely remember thinking the book was an exciting read. It took me only 3 days to finish it.
As for the movie....
There are only quite a few movies that bore me to death. This turned out to be one of them, unfortunately. Scenes which could have been really exciting, like the car chase through Paris, or even some of the scenes in London just weren't. Tom Hanks did not look like the "Harrison Ford/Indiana Jones" type, but the way he portrayed his personality reminded me of how I pictured Robert Langdon in the book.
Regarding all the controversy - after seeing this movie, those Christians protesting shouldn't worry at all. While the theories in the book were quite interesting and plausible in parts, in the movie they just seemed ridiculous due to the portrayal. And what was that "walking on water" joke?
Now to the World Cup:
I'm really happy that Germany won against Ecuador 3:0!
Congratulations to Australia and Ghana to make it into the round of sixteen!!!
On Saturday, I'm actually going on campus to see the match Germany vs Sweden. The atmosphere should be terrific, because there are tons of German fans present, which will let me experience a little bit of what is actually happening in Germany right now - i.e. tons of football fans getting along with each other, celebrating, getting to know other cultures, etc.
