Baby problems making me INSANE

Apr 26, 2009 23:19

I ran across an old email from Jan 25, 2005.  SO FUNNY!!!!

Please, don't get me wrong. I appreciate that Eva (6y3m) is as well informed as
she is. But her "baby problems" are making me well and truly nuts. Last night,
Gary put the kids to bed at 8PM. At 10PM I went upstairs, figuring he'd fallen
asleep with them. I was PARTLY right -- he and Raffi were asleep.

Eva, on the other hand, was still awake and bitterly complaining that her "baby"
was having trouble latching on in the dark, that Gary wouldn't turn on the
lights, and that her baby was missing her nipple and latching on in the wrong
place.

Last month, her baby had terrible nipple confusion/bottle preference, since the
set (given to her by MIL for Xmas) had come complete with a pacifier and bottle.
Every time the baby tried to latch on, she cried and cried and cried until Eva
HAD to let her have it!

When she's not complaining about nursing problems, she's complaining about sleep
issues. The baby has to be put to bed Just So because she will wake up crying
in the middle of the night and of course we don't just let our babies CRY,
right? Don't even get me started on the fights we've had over not having a REAL
CARSEAT for the damn doll!

I really really appreciate that her imagination is so active and that she takes
her "parenting" so seriously, but it's truly disruptive at bedtime! I'm getting
to the point where I just wish I was not AP because of the example I'm setting!
It would be SOOOO much easier to just have her CIO the damn doll, lol!!!
