Eva's been waking up very early in the morning, then going back to sleep because she's bored and eventually having trouble getting up at a reasonable time, which leads to trouble falling asleep in the evening. Gary told me that he's been encouraginig her to go back to sleep because he thought I didn't want her up that early. I explained that I would LOVE for her to get up early, but it's wandering around the house unsupervised that I don't like. She can lie in bed and read a book, listen to an audible book or if she has permission, use my laptop to play games. So this morning, when she woke up at six something, I told her she could take my laptop and play for a while. By the time Gary woke me at 8 30, she was wide awake, in a good mood and ready for breakfast. And hopefully tonight we'll be able to go to bed at a reasonable time, helping her to get back onto a reasonable schedule. I can hope anyway...
Last night I stayed up later than I'd hoped (I was ready for sleep by 7 30) but was still able to get to sleep by 11 or so, so I guess I don't h ave TOO much to complain about. I slept with minimal disruption until 6 something, then went back to sleep until 8 30, when Gary got me up. I don't feel COMPLETELY rested, as I had a rather unpleasant sleep dep racked up, but I do feel *functional*, which is certainly a big improvement over yesterday morning.
I'm getting used to sleeping on the couch, which is comfortable except for the board down the center, so I have to be careful to sleep on one side or another. The first night, I slept alone. Raffi took the second night sleeping with me, and the third night I ended up sleeping upstairs again. Last night was the fourth night and I slept downstairs with Eva camping out on the floor inthe room with me. I can't possibly imagine being comfortable there, but she seemed to sleep just fine. The kids and I agreed to let them take turns sleeping with me and the third night I get to sleep alone, so I get to be by myself tonight. Yay! Maybe I can even go to sleep tonight when I'm actually tired, instead of having to wait up for Eva to fall asleep... that is... assuming Eva is upstairs when Gary takes the boys to sleep.
Today is Friday. Gary is working from home this morning, then he has a meeting this afternoon for a while, so I'll take all three kids with me to TKD, then I'll bring David home and put him down for a late nap. I don't like to put him down that late, but I can't leave him alone while I take the kids to class. Then this weekend Eva is going out wth my mother on Saturday and I don't know what the rest of us have planned and on Sunday, Gary has to work all day. I don't know what the rest of us have planned.
Oh. And last night? That was Thursday. SUCH DENIAL! *sigh* I didn't want to believe yesterday was Thursday and kept saying it was Wednesday all evening. ONE of these weeks... really.
