these are more like ideas/images, flashes, if you will, that come to mind when i think of blaise:

a snarling animal, teeth bared, recoiling, deeply wounded.
dark hair blowing in the wind, the rush of sound.
a hand around a wrist.
a hand over a heart.
bare feet on a wood floor, sunlight streaming in through a window.
narrowed eyes, a keen gaze, quick like a bird's.
a black wing (a crow? raven?) flapping. just the one, the rest of the bird isn't in the picture.

that was all very off-the-cuff, reactionary--these associations are more meditated:

richard siken (the ballpoint pen line will always remind me of that one scene; and no, that isn't the only siken line that comes to mind, settle down. a big one, actually, is, and we will be like sailors. that whole italicized bit there, those three or so lines. please keep him safe. as well as and yes, i do believe his mouth is heaven.)
slow dancing in a burning room.
that poem by robert creeley, the one with the phrase, because i am not gentle.
"how it will happen, when" by dorianne laux.
absinthe, alcohol that burns on the way down. actually, the color of absinthe--like the color of jade--is a very prominent visual reaction/assocation.

... okay, anything more and this will stop being at all in the spirit of "first ten words" that come to mind.

in the initial ten words (or so);
you and michie agreed on heart, serpent
you and morgan agreed on power.
you and morgan both had dark and michie had night/shadow/dark side of the moon, so close enough.

the consensus, then, seems to be dark. blaise would agree.
