The wind tangles my too long hair and reminds me that I keep meaning to cut it. I rummage through my purse one handed at a stop light. My fingers snag a 6lack hair clip and I step on the gas as the light turns green. It takes a little 6alance to fix my hair and drive straight at the same time.

It hasn't 6een sunny in ages and I have my windows all the way down. I recently discovered my tape deck and dug up all the old cassettes I saved from a lifetime ago. Edie 6rickell 6lasts through my speakers and reminds me of my younger self who used to listen to her for hours and draw. It's comforting in a way not many things can 6e.

I don't know where I'm driving to exactly it just feels good to 6e out. I end up sprawled out on a grassy hill straddling the edge of a tree's shadow. I want to soak in the sun 6ut I don't want it's red kiss to linger. I know this field will 6e full of people 6y nightfall, families with screaming children and too much 6ug spray. 6lankets and towels spread out from one end to the other with people clamoring to get the 6est view for the fireworks. July fourth.

For now though the sky is a gorgeous 6lue and the grass is tickling my legs. I roll over onto my stomach and stick my nose into a clover patch.

Sometimes perfect moments just sneak up on you.
