Red boxes are traditionally utilized to house baubles intended for Chinese neighbors on their wedding day, or sometimes for the burial of one's live-in mistress. In the case of a Chinese mistress, they fold themselves neatly into the box each night- they find it the proper way to sleep. Quite economical and charming too!

I'm afraid I sense some misplaced hostility. Problems at home, perhaps? Chinese mistress left you behind?
