Gimme Some of that Good, Good Stuff

Feb 22, 2009 16:10

Things remembered:

  • 40 mini Baby Mumbles left scattered around my house = funnest. giftie. EVAR. I know there were 40 because 1) UncleSIKO told me so; and 2) they were handily numbered for easy reference.

However, I feel like I have failed My Favorite Ninja. Sadly, I must report that Baby Mumble #9 is still missing. I promise to do a photo update when I find where the stealthy pengooin has been hiding.

  • Flowers. Hooray for fresh flowers! Middnightclear sent beautiful tulips-one of my faves- and daisies/lilies from my mom.

  • MM brought pasties. Oh. Em. Gee. Super tasty (yes, I am ignoring you sickos picturing me choking on sequins)! What a wonderful way to remember a bit of home. They're from a farmer's market in Oscoda. The real deal. FTW!

  • Multiple texty wishes and cards from friends all over - yeys! Seriously, I am so spoiled. You lot are the best.

  • Handmade love is the best. Got an adorable scarf & beret with a star pattern on top. Though in the pic you can't see the cute pattern on top...

  • My co-workers are pretty great. They saved me birthday cuppiecakes.

  • Friends who bring me chocolate? Covered in awesomesauce. UTarzan-a friend/former CWide cubemate-even brought me chocolate with violets, February's flower.

  • Books = life. Multiple gifts of books and/or cards with which to buy more books? Flippin schweet.

  • I was glad for everyone to meet MM, but especially my Jackies DanceWench and buffalobills). Somehow it felt right that the sisters that the Divine brought into my life should meet the woman who gave me life. Now I want them and of course arbiter_of_cool to see where I grew up. Not even kidding about growing up across the street from Lake Huron, either.

Still waiting for pics. Mom & MM both took an obscene amount of pics, but I don't have any yet. *le sigh*

I love that arbiter_of_cool and I express our schmooble in odd ways. Yeah, we're squishy and gross, but for Valentine's I got him a mini Stonehenge and some copper dice (because he already had rose quartz, which would be a more squishy and appropriate gem); he got me a t-shirt with a heart on it. It also had a skull. Eeee!

In other life news, learned a lot at QAL Bootcamp. (A few of us have not had character work in a long time, if ever. My last SAPA workshops? 1993. Gah!) It was nice to have time to think about Frieda, and get input on how she comes across during our shows. It also allowed us to make choices based on individual needs and what our group dynamics require, too. It will make the classes we audit a bit easier, and help us to be more cohesive as a group.

Had a blast at the ConDFW Libations Social. We were asked to perform a Victorian Tart Show... Tart Show songs, in Tart Shelf Attire, only Victorian-era.
I think we cleaned up quite nicely, and the crowd seemed to have a good time. Bonus? We actually rehearsed Tart Show music before setting foot onstage opening weekend and going *URK>!* It made for a long day after Bootcamp & music rehearsal, but since I have all day today to work on my ass groove, it's all good. Besides *waggles eyebrows at badcat42077 and waterlilly* there were plenty of folks I haven't hugged/seen in ages. How could I pass that up? Though the look from the fanboys in the lobby when we walked in all tarted up? Priceless. Heh.

All in all? I count it a win.

    Be excellent to each other.
