Life on Mars on BBC America aside from the fact that it's got a Bowie tune for the title.
There are many well thought out reasons, I'm sure, to recommend the show... but I choose to make the unequivocal statement after hearing this dialogue exchange (but first, the requisite set-up):
Gene Hunt is a Manchester cop in 1973, and Mr. Warren is the big bad of the neighborhood who expects to pay off cops and run his dirty bidness. He's also a closet gay. Hunt decides to go after Warren, so he & another inspector burst into the back office of Warren's club and find him on his knees:
Hunt: I'm not a Catholic meself, Mr Warren, but isn't there something about thou shalt not suck off rent boys?
Warren: How dare you come in here?
Hunt: You could've said that to the boy!
BWAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Crassness aside, it's a really good show. The crass bits are the chocolate sprinkles on top.
