So it appears that I am currently running no less than three successful Pathfinder RPG's each week. The funny thing is I get paid to do it too. It's not much but hey I'm getting paid to play games how cool is that! And since I have very convenient LJ space i thought put down some of the more memorable moments from each weeks game. Currently I'm running the games Friday, Saturday nights and Sunday days. I've been doing this since about July and it's been growing steadily. It started with just the Friday game with just a few people and now I'm up to 24 people each week! I may have to run two games at the same time pretty soon too. Whew! It can be a lot of work but I love it. So here's the break down. Friday nights game is fairly balanced with Paladins and cavaliers and fighters and few spell tossers. Unfortunately they don't have a regular rogue anymore since she got her throat slit. That'll teach my players not to accept wine from strangers! Filling in for the rogue though is the paladin. I know that seems unlikely given their skill set but he manages to pull it off quite handily. Or in this case with his face. He has walked into more traps and survived than any other player at my table. This characters body has been healed and stitched back together more times than I'm sure he cares to remember. The scars this guy must have must be epic. And of course we all have great fun pointing this out to him. And the player of this poor trap finding Paladin is a really good sport about too. His foray into traps usually begins with,"I know this is stupid but...",quickly followed by ,"...you've just taken x amount of damage." We'll keep track of him and see how he fares in the future.
My Saturday night game is very magic heavy with 2 clerics, 2 wizards, 1 sorceress/bard, 1 druid and a rogue. It's a wonder they make it through the adventures alive half the time. But one rule I always tell my players when they ask about party make-up is: play what is fun for you to play. Don't try to cover all the bases because that gets boring. Have fun with your character and you'll figure a way around all obstacles. And my Saturday players tend to be more thoughtful in their play. What's really nice is that I have a father and son that play on Saturday's. The dad hasn't played since 2nd Ed. and the son hasn't played at all I don't think. I think it's kind of cool to have them in the game.
I think that's all I have for now. More later.
