CUT OFF!!!????

We just finished a film called Dead Man Walking in my film class. There was a heated debate going on in my class about the death penalty. I somehow managed to sit patiently and listen to Michael Moores and George Bushes go at it while keeping my mouth my mouth mostly shut.
Then when I finally get a chance to speak to one of the Bushes about the nature of love and forgiveness. About how Christ told the repentent sinner on the cross next to him, "You will be with me in Paradise." The Bush said, "Yes he told him he would be with you in paradise but he didn't say that you can go free." to which I responded, "Yes, but I'm not talking about the importance of earthly freedom..." and then my teacher cut me off. With twenty minute left in class, she simply said "We're not going to be able to change each other's minds."

I wasn't trying to change his mind because the death penalty is wrong, I was trying to help understand and identify with why I believe that love is only love if the person is unlovable. And the only forgiveness that really counts occurs when the person has done something that is "unforgivable." That's the only love that has ever mattered in the long run. Or even in the short run. What does it matter if you can love your best friend, evil men can do that. What matters is if you can be the face of love for someone who has no one else to do it. That's what Jesus was for me and I think for the world. And especially for that man up on the cross next to him.

Why do I always get cut off in the middle of the sentence that would have made my point, it happened with the fucking Tom Cruise fight too.
