30 Day Music Challenge - day 25 - a song that made you laugh
"Brian Wilson" - Barenaked Ladies
Not the funniest song per se, but it's the way I used to sing it. You see, a long time ago, I used to get bored singing the same lyrics over and over again, and I used to make up different lyrics, like Weird Al Yankovic.
My parody of this one was my magnum opus, or so I felt, as Brain Wilson would get tranformed into Fred Flinstone and you'd get something like this:
So I'm a lyin' here, just staring at the granite ceiling,
Just a thinkin' about, what Betty's got under that dress,
Just listenin' and re-listin',
To Dino yappin' in the yard.."
And so it went. And for a time I could not stop laughing when this song came on because my mind would automatically switch to my version and I'd crack myself up.
Up until the point where BW became something very unlistenable for a time. But I'm okay with it now, as time has a healing effect, at least somewhat. I'd totally forgot about all my song parodies until this day's music challenge, so I have to pause on this one and giggle at days gone by.
