Wow. The first piece had really gripped me, but this one... It broke me.

You have an amazing way with angst, as much as I love your dialogue it's the image that you bring forth with that narrative that just absolutely amazes me. As I've read through both these pieces (twice now) I feel completely overwhelmed by the sense of confusion and despair, the real core of aftermath.

I just love it. And I adore the way you write Tony, you seem to have an amazing grasp of his character. Brilliant!

Thank you very much for writing the follow up. :) It was a VERY pleasant morning read.

I do think there's a lack of aftermath-stories around. Which is possibly a good thing, because otherwise we'd be drowning in angst. I also think there's a lack of stories that aren't centred on Danny and Nicholas (and the hypocrisy of my opinion there hasn't escaped me either :p). It's nice to know my characterisation of Tony reads well. And thank you for not only reading these fics, but reading them more than once! The attention means a lot :D

I remember the first part because it is one of my favorite fics in this fandom...and I do NOT go for Nicholas/Tony AT ALL. But in a way, this story isn't about them, and I love how you tagged this "Tony/Anger" because wherever Nicholas falls into this, THAT is the real pairing here.

For such a comedic, throw-away character as Tony, you've done a magnificent job of fleshing him out and making him real to me. I feel sorry for him but underneath this rage and sadness you've hinted at a personal strength and self-awareness that gives me hope.

A bleak work but beautifully rendered. ♥

I do think that, in the movie, Tony is very aware of his own shortcomings, and I tried to milk that for all that it's worth, especially in this part.

Tagging typo is fixed. Thank you for all your feedback - you always provide a bit of depth as to what you like, and why you like it, which is very rewarding to read.

yeesh. i'll have the angsty angst with a side order angst, please.

did i mention the angst? :)

first of all, i'm just going to say that i will always ship nicholas/danny and nobody else under any circumstances. period. .......'s.

that said, it's nice to see some tony fic out there. i do agree with you that sgt fisher is well aware of his short comings and supercop nicholas angel makes him painfully aware of all of them.

What made these two stories so easy to write is that they are, at the core, really about unrequited Danny/Nicholas. Then there's several layers of not coping and vague characterisation, and then the Tony/Nicholas is a light coating on the top. I don't think I could write a Tony/Nicholas story without the pairing being a reaction to something else. This is probably because, like you, I'm fairly dedicated to the sense-making that is Danny/Nicholas.
