There's no place like home

I was bored today, and decided to go for a walk. As I was walking around, I realized that my town as a lot of “counterparts” to various locations that are seen in Sandford, so I went home and got my camera.

First we have a random street.

This is as “downtown” as it gets around here. This is where people go for all their non-food shopping needs.

The fountain, which doesn’t have any water in it at this time of year.

Our church. Not as impressive as the Sandford-church, but it’s interesting in that it’s one of the few churchs in Denmark which kept it’s original flat ceiling.

The hotel. Nothing much to be said about that.

The corner shop where you can get your Cornettos or rent Bad Boys II ;)

The pub. Interestingly enough, it’s called something like “The police station pub”

The florist's shop. I do not have any problems imagining a woman in there, spraying blood on the windows XD

We do not have an only-theatre, but we do have this cinema, which sometimes doubles as a theatre. Yes, it looks like a bathroom turned inside out.

Our supermarked.

Our Lovers’ Lane. Belive me, it’s a lot more romantic in the summer/spring when the trees are green.

The police station! You think the station in Sandford looks old? Then you have not seen the inside of this building. It’s so old, they have frescos on the walls! No, not wallpaper. Real freaking frescos! XD

The model village. :)

We do not have a castle, but we do have this: The Fortress. This was where I had my first meal when we moved to the town. In the summer there's plenty of swans swimming around in the moat. X)

And of course they have a sea mine lying around The Fortress, because apparently that’s what small towns do.

Maybe that’s one of the reasons why I like Hot Fuzz so much. Apart from this not being England, it could easily have taken place in my town. XD

If you live in a small town you too should go out and find it's Sandford counterparts. It's a lot of fun!
