Ice ice baby

Dec 11, 2007 15:02

Well, we're under our third winter storm/freezing ice advisory in two weeks, and the radar is showing this giant blob of yellow moving in to Chicagoland. Hooray...? I JUST dug my car out of a block of ice this morning too, boo.

Cheerio, Kyle Orton is starting for the Bears this Monday! Go Boilermakers! I know, I shouldn't be expecting anything great, especially with our piece of crap O-line and the even crappier Ron Turner, but ... c'mon, after Grossman (who's gross) and Griese (who's greasy), as long as Orton can remain on his feet somewhat, I'll be thrilled.

I need to post more China pictures, but everytime I look at them, I start getting sidetracked by googling the places I visited on the web (by the way, wikitravel says Huanglong is a relatively easy mountain to climb. HA.) and downloading Tibetan music. Most of it is good - and then some of it you can tell where China started meddling. For instance, I'm listening to the Halama Sister's Group right now. They have songs called Beautiful Halama, Song of Washing Clothes, and ... Communist Party Liberated Us. (Imagine girls shrieking "GOOOOONG CHANG DONG! GOOOOONG CHANG DONG! GONG CHANG DONG! AHHHHHH!!" to a techno drum beat with 1980's keyboards) The next generation of brainwashing has begun! I find it somewhat amusing that on the same page as that song is a link to a video called "Tibet genocide by Chinese Communist Party." That video, by the way, is not amusing.

To end this post on a good note, though, this picture is very amusing and has nothing to do with Communists. I've been giggling over this picture for days now.
