Happy Pi Day
So to celebrate Pi Day I decided to study social psychology. Okay, so it wasn't really connected in any way to 4.13, but I have an exam tomorrow, so yeah.
Went to the career center today to try and find a summer internship. Basically had some guy explain social networking to me for 15 minutes. He was nice and all, but I think my little naive world just got a little shattered today once I realized that it really IS who you know, not what you know. Oh well. If it gets me some summer mulah (aka, allows me to go to Peru on my dig), then whatever. Screw morals.
I love how social psych makes it so much easier to hate the human race. Really. My major is preparing me for my future misanthropic life. It's really creepy how much commercials/anyone selling anything can take advantage of you. Even bake sales. You would not realize just how crafty bake sales are. Or infomercials. Like, I used to think that infomercials never worked, that they were in fact, designed by aliens who just wanted to annoy the human race. Nope. Turns out they actually WORK. I think that's the scariest thing of all.
Also got to watch video footage of Milgram's Obedience study in lecture today. It was pretty freaking cool, in a scary, I Hate Humanity kind of way. Also learned about "low-balling." Might be useful if I ever buy a car (aka ever get out and actually get my liscense/learn to drive).
Ah well. Break in T minus 3 days. I cannot wait. This week is kicking the crap out of me (news from California does not help my mood, or my overal outlook on life).
Also, got a B on my Dinosaurs quiz. Like, wth? I'm getting a B in (Prehistoric) Rocks for Jocks? Come on!
