one of my high school batchmates, jensen garcia, invited my barkada to be speakers in a talk on love. there were 3 sets of speakers, the barkada, mom-daughter, and sister-sister. it was sort of a Q and A sort of thing. it was held in the plenary hall in, what we still call, the new building. although its not exactly new anymore since its been there since i was in grade 7. it was fun and it went pretty well. we love to talk about our barkada, hehe, so why turn down to talk about us in front of an audience? but the best part for me was being able to go back and visit my home away from home for 13 years... assumption san lorenzo.
i felt this nostalgic attack as i entered the gates of sanlo and even more so when i saw my friends standing outside the main gate. its funny but it still felt the same but a lot has changed... did that make sense? we were acting like little kids (as we always do when we're together) poitnting and squealing at things and shouting out "do you remembers" and "look that's different!" or "what happened to.." all at the same time. it was my first time back in a loooong time and it was nice. i saw a number of my old teachers!! some going way back to grade school!! i saw my grade school teachers ms. henares, gng. lanuza who used to be bb. bustamanate (grade school fil teacher, hence i still call her ginang), and a prep teacher (i don't remember her name but she was prep b's teacher... i think) i saw a lot of my high school teachers too! ms. san jose brought us around and we even entered the faculty. we saw sir eco!!! (ac girls, remember "i need a dictionary!" i think his name is sir rodriguez) and mrs eala (the best english teacher ever) who just so happens to be a coordinator na, along with ms gudoy and ms malit. we saw mrs magdangal, our old music teacher too (related to jolina magdangal!) and mrs velecina our old... i don't remember what she taught. i heard that sir bio (cajigal) is still teaching and so is mr cosino (our gay ap teacher) and even some of the gaurds and manangs are still the same!!!! and of course, we couldn't leave without having a bite of the infamous ac siomai (we used to say it tastes so good cause its made out of cats) it still tastes the same... yummy. i was looking for our "ketchup" spaghetti and frozen mango.
i miss my ac days. everywhere i turned a memory popped into my head. the whole experience was nakaka-aaaaaaw....
for the ac people out there who hasn't seen the campus in awhile:
-remember the fish pond? its not there anymore. its sort of like this stage thing with some statues on it. i wasn't able to take a good look at it.
-faculty is now in the nun's convent. i don't know where the nuns are now.
-they have a really kick ass science lab!!!!
-there's an over pass leading from the faculty to the 2nd floor where 4-1 used to be.
-clinic was moved!
-there are new tables in the canteen area and a sort of patio thing going on.
-no more patch of land in between the grade school area and the gym!! they're constructing something there now.
-the best and most surprising change is the MRH... which is now called MRA kasi mukha na talaga siyang auditorium. aircon and all my friends! complete make over!!
-and hardcourt now has a mirror in the assumpta court
i'm so glad i was an assumptionista. it was fun :)
