None of the big or heavy things, like lawn ornaments, but things like tinsel, small wreaths, strings of lights and the like are disappearing. [On his way back from school, walking up the the scene of Theo arguing with his birds, it's only when Rin sees the object of their debate that he lets curiosity take over.]

Hey the got us decorations! [Yes he's looked.]

They stole decorations. I'd make them put them back but there's so goddamn many. I'm gonna have every other drone guy in the neighborhood knocking on the door know.

...Hang up signs saying "found decorations"? Or leave them off at the community center?

We should use some if people don't claim them.

You can hang 'em up if you want. I don't really care. And they should have to take them to the community center.

I bet they were just trying to make you happy. [Rin says, kneeling down to the pile of decorations, taking a few into his hands with a smile.]

I'll hang them up if you tell me where our decorations are. [His tail has slipped out from under his coat, wagging slowly at the idea o setting up decorations.]

I guess. I'd be happier if they'd listen to me.

Hnn. The rest of the decorations are in the garage, I think.

[The crows join Rin as he looks through the pile. They want to see, too!]

Really? No wonder I couldn't find any! [ He'll drop a pile of tinsel on one of Theo's crows with a laugh.]

Are we gonna get a tree too??

I'm not getting one. You can get one.

[Phobos squawks in surprise and shakes off the tinsel.]

I will-I just- gotta figure out where. [He really hopes he doesn't have to cut one down. That would be way too old fashioned.]

Don't you want to celebrate christmas? [Poor Phobos' if he didn't like the tinsel he probably won't like the tree ornament Rin will hold out to his beak.]

If it's the same as last year, shit will just show up in our house one night soon.

I don't really care about Christmas.

[Phobos squawks again and jumps back, shaking the ornament free. Deimos caws something that sounds almost like a laugh.]

[Rin gives an almost painful smile to Theo. His and Yukio's birthday was two days after Christmas, and it would be their first one since their father had died. ]

Christmas was always a big deal at my house before... uh I wound up here. [If he can't decorate a tree right now he'll just decorate Theo's birds. Deimos gets a turn though with the tinsel now!]

My family usually worked through Christmas. [He'll leave it at that.]

[Oh, two can play at that game. Deimos picks up some tinsel, flies up and drops some on Rin's head.]

Yukio and I's birthday is actually a few days after-hey knock it off! [Rin snerks, swatting his hands and he tries to get the tinsel out of his hair.]
