[It won't be hard for Theo to notice a guy like Eddie skulking around. He'd visited the bank the other day, and now? A little bit of investigation. What kind of security is already in play without bastards like Grady interfering? Are there any other little secrets that this bank is hiding?]
I was wondering if I might be able to open a new account.
[This'll definitely be to his advantage. He'll have a good idea of how this bank operates, he'll be able to ask Theo plenty of questions, and, with any luck, he'll quickly figure out this place's strengths and weaknesses.]
[Theo shrugs.] If you really want. You're almost as better off to stuff your money in your mattress if you care about it. It's all the same in this place.
Money in Mayfield is everywhere, because there's never a shortage of food, housing, clothing or transportation. Why bother investing it when there's no reason to? Get more money to spend it on nothing? If it's stolen, I bet Mayfield will replace it the next day.
[He shrugs again.] But that's just my thoughts. I can do it if you want.
[He props his head up with his arm, leaning on the desk. So bored.]
Crawford. Theo. Just Theo. A few months now. I used to work at the library, then one day out of nowhere, they switched me here. [He frowns. he actually liked working in the library.] It fucking sucks.
[Crawford. Any relation to a Brad Crawford? Edward briefly ponders before the thought leaves his mind. Even if Theo isn't related, Eddie shouldn't be pursuing that line of inquiry to begin with. Not unless he wants to incur another volatile reaction from Schuldig.]
I hear you. I used to be an English teacher, when I first arrived. Then they made me into a Police Officer. Now I teach Ethics.
Maybe the line of question? You know I don't really give a damn if you or anyone else does. And like I said, if someone robs your money, I'd bet it'd be back in a day or two.

[He turns to face Theo, bumping up the charisma.]

[He grins, though, when Theo says he'll do it anyway.]
Excellent.

[Theo digs under his desk and digs out some paperwork, and unceremoniously flops it down on his desk.]
Here. Fill out this stuff.

Have you worked here long, Mister...?

Question: How secure would you say the vaults of this bank are?

Continuing on in a bored tone:]
Never checked. Don't care. Why, you afraid someone's gonna rob it?
[A beat.]
Are you gonna rob it?

But I suppose there's only one way to find out.
