Thoughts provoked.

Came across an entry on tumblr the other day.  I keep thinking about Sephiroth and Cloud and how they'd actually managed to kill each other when no one else could; how Genesis wants to be the one to hurt Seph but can't; how Angeal tried to prevent the fight but his blade was the one to deal the blow to Genesis that caused him to fall apart; how Zack was the only one who could kill Angeal, and Genesis resented him for not being Angeal until Zack brought Cloud to Modeoheim's caves, thereby reuniting Genesis with the representations of the two men he'd loved.  Which are the platonic soulmates?  Which are the romantic?  Yazoo fired the killing shot through Cloud's heart, so does that make Cloud's soulmate Seph or the aspect of him that was Yazoo?  Zack was felled by the bullet to the head from that last infantryman, so maybe somewhere amongst the infantry, there was someone who'd been Zack's devoted fan/admirer and, not daring to go against ShinRa, felt he had to be the one to end the one he worshipped?

This is such a sad world.

I feel I want to write it.

Even though that means the Turks are cockroaches with no soulmates.
