"It ain't boilin' because there's no water." Romano said after stepping forward to peer into the pot, taking his brothers extended arm and trying to help him stay upright.

"It...it's not because of you stupid, it's- there isn't any water. There's nothing there to boil."
He squeezed his brothers hand, turning him back towards him so he could put an arm around Italy's waist and let him lean against himself for support.

"Italy, why don't we have a sleepover again. We can play cards and then I'll make churros and magdalenas for breakfast and you can have a big mug of hot chocolate in the morning." his arm pressed Italy closer into a half hug, or maybe he did it to keep his baby brother from being able to tell there was a slight tremor to his touch. Romano was shaking just a bit, in worry and anxiety because he couldn't tell if his brother had cracked or if he was sleep walking.

"Italy?" he looked at the younger Italian's face questioningly before pushing forward and giving the other a light thunk with his forehead on the side of Italy's head. It was not a straight forward sign of affection, but Romano never showed any sort of caring in a straight forward way. He hugged his brother like that for a moment before clearing his throat and standing up straight.

"You er- you need me to piggy back you? You're- haha you're kinda half asleep or something, fratellino." he chuckled, finding some humor in the odd behavior though thinking how it was caused was distressful.

Spain had, as of late, been restless and a bit stir crazy. Especially as things had gone out of hand with some of the others, he was noticing some of his old nervous ticks resurfacing from his past--and not the very distant past, either. Sleep was becoming elusive, and without cigarettes to calm his nerves, he'd taken to trawling the hallways quietly. Nobody disturbed him for the most part.

But the noise in the kitchen drew his attention, and so he came toward it. It was still dark in there, which made him curious and worried, but he recognized the Italians he knew so well quite easily, though there was something off about the younger of the two of them.

He'd seen enough forgetfulness with the Italians that he didn't question the behavior for a moment, simply coming into the kitchen and going to the sink to turn off the faucet as he spoke.

"Italia is going to flood the kitchen, hm? What are you doing up, silly Italians?"

"Chuuurros?" he repeated in a slur, as he obediently shifted some of his weight onto his brother. If only Veneziano had been awake, he would have delighted at the chance to have a touching moment with Romano; but at least he was responding with a sleepy hug of his own, and whatever was going on inside his dreams, there was probably some amount of brotherly love involved. "I didn't know fratello could make churros, ve~."

Veneziano wriggled a bit in Romano's grasp, as if to return to the stove; but just as he opened his mouth to say something about his pasta (which hadn't boiled yet, and he couldn't figure out why) he must have heard the sound of Spain's voice. It may not have been enough to wake him from his sleepwalking, but that didn't mean it would go unnoticed. "Ve? Big brother Spain is in our house?" he asked. "That's niiice, veee. Maybe he can have a sleepover with us, too.

"But you have to play cards the right way, veee." The Italian snuggled up a bit closer to his brother. "You have to let fratello winnn."

Veneziano reached out a hand to Spain; but being asleep, he ended up placing his hand over Romano's face instead. "I'm glad we're home now, veee," he said, his voice melodic and dreamy. "I didn't like the hospital food. Their pasta didn't taste right."

Romano carefully adjusted the others hand out of his face, grunting and looking his shoulder over at Spain and suddenly grateful for the dark. For a moment his expression was giving away all his worry and uncertainty...looking to the other for help as he always did, but this was his brother and Romano quickly let it fall off his face and tried to pull himself up taller. He needed to be stronger...even if it was really hard for someone like himself.

"No! I came to get a snack and found him...well like this. I don't understand if he's sleep walkin' or not."

Romano bit his lip and tried to give the other a gentle shake again. If he off balanced him enough maybe he'd wake up?
"Should...we take him to the Docs? I dunno. I mean- ugh I dunno. He seems alright- I mean well..maybe not all the way." the elder Italian groaned the last words, rubbing his head. This was confusing. He didn't have any idea what was going on with Italy, but he didn't trust the doctors to help him find out more then he did Spain.

Despite his will before to keep from saying it the question came from him all too naturally, "What should I do?"

Spain came over to look at Veneziano, leaning on Romano just a little bit. He smiled a bit, reaching out and snapping his fingers next to the Northern brother's ears.

"During the War," he said to Romano quietly, "there was a boy about seventeen who would sleepwalk sometimes out of nervous habit. Nearly burned the camp down once, let the Republicans know right where we were. Had to keep an eye on him so he wouldn't do any harm. Sometimes, he'd go a day without waking up, but nobody would notice.

"We're very lucky we noticed him sleeping, Romano." He smiled and raised his voice a little bit as he snapped next to Veneziano's ear again. "Hm, are you awake in there, silly little Italian? Time to go have a sleepover with big brother."

"Snaaack?" he repeated, interrupting his brother who, unbeknownst to him, was suggesting that he be taken to the doctors-something he would have protested vehemently. Veneziano winced as he heard a loud snap! beside his ear and buried his face against Romano's neck, much like one hides in their pillow to protect their eyes from sunlight. Consequently, his voice came out sounding muffled and small. "Pazzo, I'm making you pastaaa. Just wait for it to boil, veee."

Veneziano squirmed again, this time to find a more comfortable position against his brother, and for a while it seemed as if he had finally exhausted himself and was ready to go back to bed. He had stopped responding to both nations, and once he'd settled down, he stopped moving as well. It wasn't until Spain snapped his fingers a second time that Veneziano finally woke from his deep, Halludrin-induced sleep, rubbing his eyes and groaning something about his "straaange dream, veee."

The Italian cracked one eye open and looked around. Nobody ever expects to wake up in a kitchen, unless that's where they fell asleep in the first place; but he didn't make much of it, thinking instead that he had been there all along. "Mmmhh, is it morning already?" he asked, pushing against Romano until he managed to stand on his own without falling over. In doing so, however, he felt something crack underneath his feet.

"Ve?" Veneziano looked down at the pasta, then up at Spain and his brother. "... fratello, if you wanted pasta, all you had to do was ask."
