"His hygiene and attire were adequate. He wore black fingernail polish during the interview. His affect was flat throughout the interview. He said his self-esteem is an 11 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest. He said that his outlook is that he is 'very narcisstic and egotistical, I'm basically what everyone else should become.' When asked if he gets down on himself, he said, 'most of my problems are other people.' He has fashioned an iron into an Omega symbol and he brands his arms and stomach with it. He said the Omega symbol means 'It's the end of something, nothing in particular.' He said he ingages in self-injurious behavior once per month. He said the burning and blood is 'pretty.'
"it seems as though Drew Pulliam is in the high-risk category for being dangerous to himself or others. He hsa in fact been engaging in self-injurious behavior for an extended period of time. He has had thoughts of hurting others, made threatening gestures towards his mother, brought weapons to school, and made threatening remarks on the internet. He seems to have responded little to consequenses by the school as well as a lack of significant change in behavior after psycotherapy. Many of his remarks seem to be provocative. He has reportadley had suicidal thoughts for an extended period of time.
It is recomended that all equiptment to brand himself or cut himself be confinscated as soon as possible and steps be taken to inhibit his ability to injur himself. Contact with others who ingage in cutting and burning should be limited as much as possible to inhibit that type of behavior. It is recomended that frequent room checks are conducted to look for weapons or instruments to harm himself. Explore residential treatment to provide him with a safe and secure setting to inhibit his self-injurious behavior and to provide him intensive treatment in an effort to limit his risk of being dangerous to himself or others. It is recomended that he participate in a chemical dependancy evaluation and consider inpatient chemical dependancy treatment for severe chemical use. it is recomended that wherever he lives that frequent checks are made to insure that he does not have any weapons or tools for self-injurious behavior. It is of great concern to these writers that if these recomendations are not followed, Drew could become more dangerous to himself or others."
