Prayer I (Accidental Video)

Dec 14, 2009 23:52

[The video suddenly turned on. All that can be seen is darkness.]

AHHHHH!

[There is the cry of what sounds like a boy in distress. Shortly followed there is a crash, and the sense of movement. There is the sound of rustling and falling. The communicator is now on its side, yet still doesn't show much. If one were to look very closely they would ( Read more... )

[Enrico Maxwell was closer to the Inquisition than the boy thought, no, this man was the Inquisition of his time. The vicious organization that carried out the Vatican's most depraved works, ones he saw he would be blessed for in the end, even with Christ's blood staining his hands. Approaching with a regal grace in his caution, he sought to get a better look at the child he had ran headfirst into this valley of in the shadow of death for.

Wouldn't Anderson have a conniption that he had gone such a thing, he was almost humbled and blanching at the same time at the thought. Yet impulse in his desperation had driven him like His mysterious ways, and now that he was here, he would follow through. After all, this was that blasted woman's sibling, it would do him well to be shown favor by his... future superiors.]

Sì, che sarebbero accettabili. [Yes, that would be acceptable.] [He needed all the protection he could get in this place. Another set of eyes would do the lot of them well.]

Noi lo porterà alla chiesa, mi metterà in contatto con il Cardinale da lì--[We will take him to the church, I will contact the Cardinal from there--]

[Startled from the movement of a barrel-like object, ice dropped into the pit of his stomach.]

MERDA!

[Liquid silver drawing up, his weapon solidified to his aim and quick-twitch digits fired into the dark blinding all around him...

Followed by the high-pitched screech of a barrel spider.]

((ooc: Feel free to attack it yourself, or have it attack or whatever you like, luvs! ))

[Giovanni held a reply in check as the sudden movement from the corner of his vision caught his attention at the same time the other broke off abruptly. His hand was at his waist on the hilt of his sword in an instant. But the Archbishop was quick as well and had less motions to go through, and the noise the weapon made startled the Assassin more than the unusual creature itself; and he paused to see the outcome as much as to regain his senses.

His eyes flickered to the strange--and loud--weapon and back again to the intruder. He was ready to react next if his stance was anything to go by.]

[[Sorry, Giovanni is too busy wondering what the HELL is that weapon to help out. Not that he wouldn't defend himself or the others if it were to attack.]]

AH!!

[Alessandro cried out, it was that creature again. The thing that had been above when he first woke up. This time though, his body reacted typically, and he fainted immediately. The boy went limp and crumpled to the ground in fright.]

[The four-legged beast toppled out of the darkness, staggering on spindly legs and hissing in a mad-fit from where a considerably sized hole had been blasted into it, smoldering a vile stench. Enrico's heart leapt that that thing hadn't died, and then dropped dead into the pit of his despicable bowels as the child toppled as well in fright.]

Non solo lì, afferrarlo e vai! [Don't just stand there, grab him and go!]

[All that he had built himself up to be as a leader of the most fearsome organization under the church's reign instilled solidly in his wretched soul. As if he had been brought back to that moment when he had proved to his superiors that his men and women would be the silent cornerstone of His Holy Temple, starting with his own prowess in the field of divine execution.]

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti.. Discedere ad Inferos!

[In a flash of blessed steel, the Archbishop cast his qualms to the Lord he had forsaken in Midian, and slashed a silver bayonet from his cassock, cleaving it into one of the legs of the shrilling beast.]

[Giovanni caught the sight of the boy falling and cringed, knowing well that he wouldn't be able to catch him before he hit the ground. But he was moving to do such in an instant anyway, and he was at the boy's side feeling his temple even before Maxwell gave him his harsh order. Assured that the boy's head at least was well, he picked him up carefully in his arms as he had so many times before picked up his sons in their time of need, and began out.

He already knew where he was going; the man had mentioned the Church. He hated to leave, but he also was more worried for the boy's safety than that of a man who could defend himself. He dashed off into the darkness, a shift shadow himself.]

[Alessandro would be out for a while, and this was a typical reaction to such situations. In fact, it was less normal he hadn't fainted when he had arrived. But, he would wake up again with time. Most likely after he arrived at the church.]

[The crusader ran purely upon the electricity of his adrenaline high and the madness that fiercely corrupted it. Like a butcher without distinction he hacked away at the creature, vile blood and entrails splattering every which-way.]

Perire e morire, diavolo! Perire e morire! Morire! Morire! Die! DIE! DIE! DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE!!!

[There was only twitching insectial sinew and organs left betwixt the shrill screams he had not realized were his own till the fog of slaughter cleared from his vision.

The archbishop staggered outside, grasping his blood-slicked brow, his right eye twitching wide as a twisted giggle bubbled from his pernicious lips.]

Hnhnhnnn.... Heheeeheheheheee!

[He couldn't fathom what he had just done, the thrill had been more marvelous a task than any other. Why had he forsaken such a fantastic feat he had left only to his subordinates?! Maxwell laughed. Laughed loud and long till his sides and his throat were soar.

Turn with a royal flip of his carlet-soaked hair over his shoulder, he held the blessed sword between his sanity-thieved eyes, and hallowed his benediction. A new conviction to add to his personal creed.]

AAAAMEEEEN!!!

[And from there, the serpent of the Vatican's Eden, slithered back to his Lord's house.]

[Giovanni ignored the screams coming from back inside the building as he flitted out into the streets and quickly towards the Church. He didn't want to know; feared that he already did; and wished that he couldn't hear them at all. Eventually get got out of earshot, and thankfully much before Maxwell find his way back out of the building so he was spared the final testament of the man's insanity.

He carried the boy all the way to the Church and slipped inside with ease. Once in he found an ideal place to set down the boy--on one of the still intact pews--and placed him gently on it. He checked again for any obvious wounds before settling back on his heels to contemplate for a moment.

Should he go back or not? He'd rather stay with the boy, frankly. He didn't want the other to wake up all alone after all. Or worse, let someone else find him if there were others in this deserted holy place.

He set himself to watching over the boy, briefly considering forcefully waking him but forgoing it for the moment.]

[He slowly came to after a little while. At first he thought he was waking from a dream, but the more he came to, the more he remembered. It looked like he was in a church now, which meant it should be safer. Wasn't he suppose to do something...?]

Ah, F-F-Father Abel said....

[He looked over to Giovanni, then smiled weakly. In a way, he was reminded of Vaclav, though he couldn't say what it was.]

Th-thank you.

[...? He ignored the name for now though and returned the smile kindly. He had about him a very loving fatherly aura. Only at the moment he also looked like a faithful knight. without the armor. And please don't call him a Templar. >.>]

You're welcome, piccolo.

[The door to the church creaked open, droplets of dark sanguine trickling off the end of the blade the holy man held down at his side. The door shut with a hollow sound, before he leaned against it with a deep breath of respite.]

Aahh a thanks indeed.

[Giving the sign of the cross, with a flip of a long handkerchief from his breast-pocket. He smoothed the cloth over the silver blade and rested it on a pew, then matted the rest of the clean spots of the thick fabric over his face, before turning his vivid jade eyes towards the man and the tremulous young boy.]

You made it well, did you not?

[Alessandro just nodded slowly. He really had no clue on what to say after thanks, and wasn't particularly good with talking to people. He was glad that nothing jumped out of the shadows at him here, and it seemed the monster from before was dead. It was a little creepy how much of the monster was on the Archbishop though.]

[Giovanni shared in the boy's feelings towards the Archbishop at his lack of finesse. He had seen Templari with butchering habits much like this...]

Sì, we did. Without so much as an incident. [He nodded politely and kept his thoughts to himself.]

[It had been a great deal of time since the Director had held a weapon in his hand in such a way. Let alone his subordinate's trademark sword. The power such a divine tool had behind it was as intoxicating as the Spear of Longinus... he now saw very clearly as to a part of why his great Trump Card oftentimes lost all control when these bayonets fell into his grasp. Enrico was still tingling from the aftermath even when taking his time to return to the church. It really had been.. truly marvelous.]

I'm eased to hear that, signore.

[He uttered with a hushed and darkly cherubic tone, before finally gliding over. The candlelight of the looming church offered a warm orange glow to everything about them. And for the first time he got a rather... startling look upon the boy.

More over.. upon his Holy Pontifical Vestments.]

Child... if I might ask.. Why is it you wear the sacred vestments of His Holiness?

[He tilted his head a bit, it was such an alien question. No one had every questioned, everyone always knew. In fact, everyone usually knew more than he did at any given time. He almost wasn't sure how to even answer the question.]

Because... th-th-their mine...? I, I was crowned.... f-f-f-five yeas a-a-ago....

[The boy couldn't have been much older than Petruccio... he was much too young now to be a pope, much less have been crowned one five years ago. What was all of this...?

He didn't know, but it also wasn't his place to question he thought. At least for the moment.]
