i ordered a new camera, some lenses and filters, a card reader and some compact flash cards. they should get here tomorrow. if not im going to be very sad.
my teacher, who is also a newspaper photographer, thinks he can get me and another lady from my class press credentials so we can get into the cheney thing on the 13th. its already approved on a federal level but the local law enforcement agencies can still say no. he covered the bush event a year or so ago. i guess the security is insane, more than you could imagine. obviously they have good reason to be so thorough but its still crazy. once you are in the press area you cant leave until long after he is gone. if you have to go to the bathroom 3 secret service people escort you and wait outside the stall...after doing an intense sweep of the toilet and whatnot lol. if we get to go i want to go to the bathroom just to see the spectacle.
even if you think bush and cheney are giant gaymos or the spawn of satan its still sweet to be able to do something like this. its not often that one gets to be that close to someone in that position, or the security! lol
