whoops.. wound up downstairs and forgetting to update on time.
It's a strange progression where my room's generally a bit uncomfortable nowadays, so I just work on things downstairs. My roommate has this portable heater.. and it's always on. The weather's heating up into t-shirt weather and I know I'm not particularly cold resistant.. but this is a bit too much for me. But we do share a room and it doesn't bug me enough to actively request against it. Afterall, being downstairs is nice - I get to talk to people.
The sleep talking is starting to freak me out a little too. Sometime it's sleep-angry-yelling and I can't help but think I've done something wrong.
There's also how I don't always have no hearing .. yeah I often have noise canceling headphones on, but it's pretty easy to discern human speech. Lately she sounds a bit angry at me, and I've no idea what I've done now. Do I snore? Is it the horridly messy state of my desk? my unorganized piles of books? I keep everything to one side, so I'm not too sure what's going on.
ah well..
Okay Thursday. Accidentally missed discussion - but all they did was go over the midterm. Then left early. He's a cool TA though. My attendance is generally still very good.
Japanese was interesting. I'd never fit in with the Japanese housewife lifestyle. ... come to think of it, I'd never fit in with the AMERICAN housewife lifestyle. There's far too much I want to do. Hell, I don't fit into any sort of expectations my mom wants from me. I wonder where my active personality came from .. my entire family is rather passive.
Returned to my hall, made some delicious pasta for lunch.
Went to my multinational finance class. .. I think I'm just going to read ALL of the notes and re-do homework this weekend and see if that makes the topic any easier to take in without particles. I wish my professor spoke with particles. It would make my life so much easier. I guess hearing him yell "EUROPIA" repeatedly is kind of amusing.
Returned to my hall and finished off my shot list (while correcting other shot). Then I made a comprehensive shooting schedule for the two hours I have to get 2 scenes done on Friday. It's going to be hard, simply because they're the most dynamic and complicated scenes I've done in a while. Afterall, I'm trying to explain things visually, so I can't really do a ton of shot-reverse-shot conversations to convey an idea.
Then I practiced with my camera for a bit. The shoulder mount always felt better on the right, with all of the camera's controls being on that side as well.. but I noticed that my shots were generally not completely focused. I thought about this for a second and realized it's because I'm completely left-eye dominant. It's not the kind of thing that's taught in camera workshops. Plus everyone uses these flip out LCD screens nowadays, so using one eye is generally not necessary. Most professional level cameras have their viewfinders on the left of the camera, so that it lines up with your right eye when on your right shoulder.
So just like in archery, I flipped everything over so that I could focus with my left eye instead. Sure it's a bit of an awkward reaching motion at times and leaves my shoulders a bit painfully hunched, but it's working out nicely for my shots.
these little things are always so amusing to me.
hm.. I've a tendency to not start my sentences with capital letters unless they directly follow a punctuation mark that requires it. Hmmm..
Then I scheduled out my actors a bit better so that everyone knew what was going on. Failure from miscommunication is always frustrating, so I figure making sure everyone is completely on top of what's going on would be a great idea.
... I just realized my 32 GB card is formatted for my 60D .. and my GoPro eats data like nothing else ... gotta clear some 8GB cards I guess. Costco needs bigger SDHC cards.
Charged up my batteries for today's shoot. Then went off for sleep.
Oh yeah, we got our hall sweaters on Wednesday. My last name is spelled wrong. MekvichitsZeng. I'm sure I can turn that Z into an A somehow .. with a bit of ingenuity, fabric paint, and a knife.
Zot!
