When I first moved out to SoCal, I invested quite a sum in camping gear, thinking I'd take advantage of the natural beauty near and not so near and try to get in touch with my long lost inner hippie.
Well, it shouldn't be surprising that I used the gear just once. Yes, sadly and precisely just once on an overnight trip to the
Joshua Tree National Park. That was back in September 2005. Nonetheless, firmly believing that I'd still make my way sooner rather than later to Big Bear, e.g., I'd held onto:
- and a daypack, REI Lookout Pack 2006
Well, nearly three years later, nonsuch has taken place. Although I still didn't want to part with them, I couldn't continue to indulge my fancy that I would put them to use ever again any time soon. So on eBay they went, in hopes that whoever won the auctions would put them to good - and much - use.
This morning, I received the following message from the eBayer who purchased the sleeping bag:
Thanks so much Liz..I got it...and really happy with it. I'm a member of Indonesian Woman mountain climber. We will go to Mt. Everest. I've been to lots of montains. Thanks again so much.
WOWZA!! How cool is that!? When I'd hoped that the new owners would make more use of them, I never imagined that my former sleeping bag was going to
Mt. Everest! And other mountains of note! Coolio! I'm so happy now that she was the auction winner!
