This post is especially for a few people (
mikochan_noda and
syaoran_no_hime), since I know you were waiting and were asking for it. Since after all, Japan + Spring = Sakura.^__^
Anyway, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I recently got a camera (Sony DSC T9 6 megapixel--and no, I'm not boasting, I'm just giving specs) so I was able to take lots and lots of pictures. The bad news is that...somehow, my sakura pics aren't that good....well, as compared with the pictures I took of the peach and plum blossoms late last March...
But anyway, pictures are pictures, even if they aren't that good.*cough* So here we go. And yes, warnings for image-heavy...things under the cut.
First: my location is Osaka Castle, in Osaka (dur). So these pictures are either near the castle or near the bridge and river near the castle. And there are lots of people because, well, the weather is good and it is Japanese tradition to have a picnic under sakura trees every spring. (And no, I did not do that sort of thing because I am a cheapskate and store-bought food is expensive. And I am antisocial, so I was there alone.)
These first series of shots are far shots. Like, well...far. You know.
Next, we have the close-up shots. Of the flowers. These are the typical pinkish sakura that are common around here. Meaning, you can see them as you walk even on a normal street. Like near my school or something. I'll show the pictures of the less common variety (I think) after this:
Sorry they're a bit repetitive (same flowers in every shot...nuuhh), but I wanted to take as many shots as I could. And for the record, these CU shots are ALL the shots I took. Like as in ALL.
So next, it's the less common sakura type. Actually, I'm not even sure if these really *are* sakura, buuut...they look like sakura, and they certainly don't look like peach, so what else can they be?*shrug* Anyway, they're pretty, so worth a look, right?
Finally (or not), pictures of the castle with the sakura. I was trying to aim for a shot that looks like the ones that they put on the postcards, buut...as it turned out, I can't.;~; It's a sad reality that I have no future as a photographer. Not that I want to be one, anyway. And the sky isn't blue that day, so...
(And you may ask: Why is the castle covered with sakura in some of these shots...? Er, don't ask me. I don't know either.*coughcough*)
And as a bonus (and since I'm nuts), peach and plum flowers. So you can compare them with the sakura and well, see which flowers are prettiest. As for me, I like peach, but I like sakura, too. The plum ones are too small for my taste...
First: Peach. The pink ones first, then the white ones after that.
Now, white peach.~
Now, we have the plum flowers. They have the dark pink and light pink (lilac-ish, actually) variety:
And that's about it.^__^ Hope you liked the pictures, and hopefully you have comments, sooo...if you do, please comment!
