The beat faded out into silence, and Stefan sat on his bed, unmoving. His laptop sat beside him, still open to that fateful tumblr post. He stared forward blankly. Only a slight twitch building at his right eye betrayed the storm of emotion roiling within.
Hours passed, maybe days.
"You can’t do this, Stefan. You have to go out, you have to feed. Your brother is gone because he wanted you to live, he wouldn’t have wanted this for you."
Alaric had come into the room at some point, and Stefan hadn’t noticed. Also, he still wasn’t moving.
"Hey… Hey, Stefan! Snap out of it." He snapped his fingers in front of the vampire’s face.
In a flash, pale fingers were wrapped tight around Alaric’s wrist. He looked up and Stefan’s moss green eyes bore into him with an unnerving intensity.
“After five seasons our time is here,” he whispered hoarsely.
"What?" Alaric asked, trying to pull his arm from Stefan’s grasp, to no avail.
“They progressed from enemies to friends, and walked with each other into oblivion.” Stefan’s voice had begun to take on a sort of cadence, and his eyes had glazed over with a sort of mania.
The hunter stopped, startled. “Wait, are you… are you shipping again? But they’re both dea- they’re both gone now.”
“Bamon fans, through thick and thin,” Stefan sang, tugging Alaric towards him and dragging him into a strange half-dance from where he sat. “Our Bamily will stand together, we’re in it til the end.”
Alaric frowned.
Tears of joy streamed down Stefan’s face. “We’re a Baaaamily,” he sang, over and over.
