I meant to mention this a couple of days ago. I got an email from the organizers of the fforde ffestival, announcing the fforde ffiesta to be held next May. (or May next). This is also taking place in Swindon but at a different venue.
I went to the fforde ffestival in 2005 and it was great fun. The organizers put a lot of effort in, and came up with some brilliant ideas. I think my favourite thing was the special tour of Swindon, in an open-topped bus, with Jasper doing the commentary. There were some excellent costumers at the fancy dress too. I went as Mrs Bradshaw.
The ffiesta is on over the May bank holiday weekend (3rd-5th May) and should be fun.
