SAN DIEGO -- Several 10News viewers from various parts of San Diego County have reported hearing a loud sound that included earthquake-like shaking.
The 10News newsroom began receiving reports of a possible earthquake from residents in the Mira Mesa and Clairemont areas at about 12:45 p.m.
Since then, residents from as far north as Oceanside and down to Chula Vista have reported hearing and feeling a "rumble"-like sound.
Officials at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar said the sound did not come from the base.
Camp Pendleton officials told 10News there was training on the base, but nothing that would cause a sound similar to a sonic boom.
10News and 10News.com will have more information as this story develops.

"SAN DIEGO - The source of a mysterious boom felt throughout much of San Diego County was two F/A 18 Fighter Jets, a Navy spokesperson said Friday evening.
A Navy spokesperson said two jets from the USS Carl Vinson went supersonic around 12:45 pm during a demonstration for family members on board. Two spokespersons from the Navy had previously said none of their aircraft were responsible for the sound."
