My son wants to have cupcakes sent to school on his birthday, but I don't want to go to Vons, Albertson's, etc. for them. Where can I buy cupcakes in San Diego that aren't going to cost an arm and a leg (I already checked with Extraordinary Desserts -- kind of pricey for a 4th grade cupcake/milk party hah) but would still taste yummy. Grocery store cupcakes are horrible, they're always dry and crumby and the icing on them is blah. Costco does not make cupcakes or I would go to them.
Also, if there are any bakeries you know that could make them with less sugar or (ugh) Splenda -- his teacher expressed that the kids in his class all are hyperactive and she's hoping we can bring in cookies because they're less sugar than icing laden cupcakes.
Thank you for any suggestions!
