Skylar!

First of all, thanks to everyone who gave me music suggestions. I'll do my best to try out all of them and see if I can't update my playlist.

Been pretty busy lately. I just got a new bartending gig uptown. Yes, I officially left Harbour Lights, and I will now be working behind the sticks at the House of Brews on 46th St. near 9th Ave. And it's actually a bar, not a restaurant with a bar. They serve food, but their specialty is beer. They have over 30 different kinds in house. My first shift is tomorrow from 11-7. My buddy Mike helped me get the job. I helped him get a job at Harbour Lights last year, and when he left last month to go to the House of Brews, I told him to put in a good word for me. He did, and I got an interview with the manager about 2 weeks ago. They tried me out last week and a few days later I got a call saying I had the job. I'll more than likely be working 11-7, mon-wed, fri, and sat to start, so if you're in midtown, stop in for a beer!

PBC has been kept occupied with our own material (filler fridays, Puppet Rampage doc, etc.) as well as work for some other people. Through a contact Chad made, we were hired to film a pilot for a cooking show. It was very low budget, but it has one of the contestants from Top Chef as the co-host. I really make it a point not to watch reality TV, but for those who indulge in it, his name is Cliff. He's a big, muscular black guy who was on last season I believe. If it rings a bell, he was actually voted off the show not because of his cooking, but because he tried to shave the head of one of the other contestants after he lost a bet. It was a pretty quick job because they had already filmed it once and were unhappy with the results they produced, so they hired us to come in with our camera and try and do a more professional job. I enjoyed watching what they did. It had a very "Dinner and a Movie" feel where the show is just as much about the banter between the hosts as it is about cooking. Best part was we got to eat the food when they finished and it was fuckin' delicious. Pan seared mahi-mahi and poached halibut with apple relish served with a spinach salad topped with blue cheese, olive oil, cider vinegar, maple syrup, and toasted walnuts.

I came to Buffalo this past weekend to see the Bills game with Matt, as well as visit with my family. My niece is now almost 5 months old and has gotten much bigger and exponentially more adorable. I unfortunately forgot my camera, but Matt has the iPhone and took a bunch of pics for me. Photos I will now share with you!

Skylar was not happy to see me at first. The result of not being around most of the time.

The trip was a lot of fun, albeit way too short. I always feel like I'm running around like crazy to try and see everyone when I'm home, and I always only succeed in seeing a few people. My mother really wants me to come home for Thanksgiving because my entire extended family will be in town, but I'm not sure I'll be able to make it with this new job. C'est la vie.
