Dear friends,
Please to be taking note. Brett has moved. His new address is:
18-16 Astoria Park S.
Astoria, NY 11102
Send me new postcards and letters! and maybe cash?
With the help of Mike, Matt, Steph, and Hex, I was able to completely pack up, move out of the old place and into the new place in just about 8 hours. I had every intention of being packed in time for the move, but unfortunately we didn't get back from Willard until almost 1 in the morning on sunday night thanks to a line of traffic that stretched from Westchester county all the way to the New York/PA line. The new pad is in a great location, right across from Astoria Park. My bedroom is smaller, but the apartment is bigger. I have 2 roomies named Omar and David who both seem pretty cool. Haven't gotten to really know them that well yet, but we seem to be on the same page.
For those who don't know, the reason I had to move had solely to do with my douchewaffle ex-landlord. Because of the way he dragged his feet on fixing the apartment, Adam called 311 (NYC information) and reported the damage we had. The health department came out, made a list of what needed work, and sent a letter to Dennis telling him to fix it. Instead of just re-painting the walls and maybe patching a few holes, Dennis sent us a letter saying he had no choice but to renovate the apartment, and we had to be out in a month. The timing was awful, because it fell right around the time Chad and I were heading out to Minnesota. When I returned, I had about 10 days to search, pack, and move. When I found the new place, I told him I would be out by Monday the 6th, to which he agreed. Then, all of the sudden, on the day of the move, he starts talking about how I owe him 100 dollars for a partial month of rent. In pleasant terms, I basically told him to go fuck himself. Unfortunately, I had to go back a day later to pick up my ceiling fan, to which I got another earful about how the apartment was a mess and he had to hire Mexicans to clean the place. Without getting angry, I let him say his piece, gave him his keys back, and got the fuck out of there. Good riddance.
So the new place seems great, I'm excited to be moving on, now please watch the video that I have spent the last 2 days holed up in my room editing:
