Dear 30 Rock...

Dear 30 Rock,

First of all, I would like to thoroughly congratulate you on being renewed for a 6th season. None of us, and by us I include you too, thought that you would make it this far. Though what makes that statement funny is the serious absurdity of it. Of course you would make it this far, because from the get-go you were an absolutely ( Read more... )

I so totally agree with what you wrote. I got the 3rd and 4th seasons for Christmas, and even though I'm only on the 2nd disc of the 4th season (even though I've seen the majority of the eps of that season, but just for the sake of rewatching them), I'm starting to see a change that just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I mean, when I watch the current season, it isn't as bad. Sure, maybe it's because I haven't written a Jack/Liz fic in years (since season 2) or maybe it's because Avery seems okay to me, and is kinda like an odd fusion of CC and Elisa.Being that the both of those relationships ended, I'm hoping that will happen the same with Avery. I mean, I'm a House fan, and moreover, I'm a House/Wilson fan, so I'm used to shows ruining something that was incredible (like the House/Wilson fandom) and replacing it with something that's just gross ie House/Cuddy (no offense if anyone likes that pairing, btw :D). However, much like House, Jack can't keep a relationship because like House, Jack is flawed, whether or not he sees it. Wilson, much like Liz, has always been there for him (ie House and Jack respectively) and will always be there for him (at least in my own sick mind).

Watching a few random 1st and 2nd season eps last night on Netflix, I much like you and a few other people who commented had the same thought "Woah. This is the same show that I just saw in season 4? No...no, it's not..." Yeah, it is, sadly. When I rewatched the pilot, I was taken back to when the show first came out, when my friend first hooked me on it, and then subsequently hooked me on Alec-but that's a different story altogether-,and, moreover, a time in which everything seemed to make sense in the the show. It was more Liz centered and not "the maddness otherwise known as Liz" centered as it seems to be now. :/ I hope, much like House, 30 Rock's TPTB realizes that while it's 'saved' for a 6th season, that if it doesn't get it's act together, there's going to be a lot of angry fans, both Liz/Jack fans and otherwise. :/
