Hey y'all, sorry I've been away so long. I've been sleeping near to 14 hours a day since my project ended with the exception of when I got up "early" to stand in line for Star Wars tickets.
I'm not in this pic, but I had to get one of Obe-wan there(and yeah it was raining but luckily I had the foresight to bring an umbrella).
I was 15th at the noon showing and 1st for the 7:45, then 249th for the 12:45 the next day. Here's a non-spoiling review for anybody not nerdy enough to have seen it:
Great action, better swordplay than previous, average acting and horribly mediocre lines. Let's face it, Lucas has never been that good at writing conversations but here he really flops. This doesn't take away much from the movie though as we aren't there for the dialogue. The battle scenes were great and the decent into darkness was well played. Watch it once to hear what they are saying and then again without listening and you will notice a huge difference.
Now for the good(my) stuff ^____^
I haven't yet developed the film pics from my project but here are a bunch from my cameraphone. I'd explain them all but that would take over an hour, and all the names of people/places would mean virtually nothing to anybody who hasn't read the Three Kingdoms...or at least played Dynasty Warriors(those games need serious historical work but at least the essence is still there).
This one is a pic of where I paint, all two feet from my bed. The reason why they are called "studio apartments" is fairly obvious. As you can see, the subtlties of the last painting weren't picked up very well by my phone as you can really only see the thickness variations in person.
Cao was very happy with my presentation and not only gave me an A but said he would like to buy one of my paintings. I could never sell anything to someone I hold in such high regard, I intend to give him the painting of his choice.
As the great master 謚孔子 said "A teacher for a day, a parent for life."
I still haven't gotten internet access at my place but that should change in the coming weeks. Till then you'll all just have to be strong ^___^(as if you haven't already gotten used to my absense during my 9-month research/painting project)
Here's a bonus (blurry)pic of my old Japanese class before a test, as seen from where I usually sit. I find James' "I don't want to die" look particulaly amusing.
I did warn everybody that there was a monster picpost on the way ^___^
