Epicness and not so epicness

The other day I broke down and picked up Dawn of War 2 for PC. As some of you may know it is based on the Warhammer 40k table top strategy game. The few minor issues that I have with the game aside, like quitting a mission counting against you. So the only way to exit a game without having it penalize you is to ctrl-alt-del the game. Besides this I absolutely love it. My favorite unit has to be the assault marines who use jet packs to leap onto unsuspecting enemies squishing some and suppressing the rest so they can finish off the survivors with chainswords. In the campaign each squad is unique, and plays a specific role in combat as well as being very customizable both in the placement of skill points and equipment.

That being said this game has shown me the one of the worst features in a game I have ever seen. Microsoft somehow thought it would be a good idea to port Xbox Live to PC. As far I can tell they changed little to nothing as far as workings of Live and the Live console. Though it may be a useful system on console it is absolutely terrible when you consider the things you can do on a PC, they don't even give you the option to set a push to talk button in the mic setup where even free shit like teamspeak and ventrillo have a push to talk button, and my friends and I actually mute the Microsoft mic feature and use teamspeak instead because it isnt a complete piece of shit. The fact that it makes you run both Steam and Live simultaneously is just fucking retarded, partially because Steam is simple and user-friendly as opposed to Live which is complicated and a pain in the ass.

Note to Microsoft: PC gaming market is not fucking stupid like most of your Madden and Halo playing console crowd, we have had this sort of shit for years and we actually have stuff that works better so maybe instead of thinking you can do a simple port and have it work you can actually look at successful systems and build off of them i.e. Steam.
