Samurai 7 stageplay re-run

Oct 12, 2010 08:35

Good morning, everyone. :D

If you haven't heard yet, it's been announced that there will be a re-run of the Samurai7 stage-play this year. There are a few casting changes, but for the most part, I expect it to be almost identical to the first play (which ran two years ago).

More info~ )

No worries - I went to the play back in 2008 for exactly the same reason. XD I watched the anime before seeing the play, so I knew what to expect when I got there, and then became a fan of the series. ^^;;

I'm glad someone else on here got to see the play as well. It was kinda lonely being one of very few foreigners who saw the first one live. D: Yeah, I am going to the final show. I'll be sure to let everyone know what kind of special things they do, and about their speeches.

I also thought Shouhei was a good Katsushirou, though, honestly, I prefer Shinotani's 2008 Katsushirou. Maybe his just seemed more innocent than Shouhei's. I really can't choose between 2008 and 2010 Kyuuzou, though. Masa (who I saw today in a different musical) is one of my all-time favorite actors, but Nissy did an excellent interpretation of Kyuuzou as well. >_< As for Shichirouji, I highly favor Aiba. *rambles*

Nah, there was never really any fear of them not releasing a DVD, especially since they had one for the 2008 run. I was kind of surprised that there were quite a few empty seats on Sunday, though..

That's awesome!!! *0* Back then, who were the actors you liked?? I love that we had a similar introduction to the anime, then! I think that's so great! I haven't seen the older performance in full--just clips--but it did look very well done! I'm actually a big fan of Shohei and Nissy and Aiba's (as well as Masaya's too), so having those four together in one show had been something I couldn't pass up! I don't know Shinotani-kun (I feel so bad, though I did see some of the clips of his performance! ^^;;;), but I was at least proud of Shohei in that this was his very first stage production and I know he said he was SO nervous about the whole thing. Even on Monday's show he seemed a little nervous--did you get that vibe? I think he's used to playing harsh roles (like Yankee-types) in dramas or in film, so maybe this was very new to him. But did you know he and Masaya were just in Umizaru 3: The Last Message together??? It was funny to see them together in the stage play as Samurai 7 characters now! XDDD

About Nissy.....I thought he was fantastic too! He has some stage experience (and he's a FANTASTIC drama/movie actor, so I really recommend his work), but seeing him in Kyuuzo's role was just great! He really pulled it off, didn't he? A lot of his fans were debating over whether he'd be able to do it with his otherwise fun-loving, cute nature. XD He sure did, huh? XDDD I love that little man~ (And agreed about Aiba. He was amazing!)

But I'm really glad to talk with someone else about this too!!! And about those empty seats for the Sunday show...you know what that was, right?? All the fans who bought TONS of extra tickets just so they could sell them for ridiculous prices on Yahoo Auctions later. It's so unfair to the people who want to go and don't get the tickets because people like that had to be selfish. (-_-) I mean, I'm sure the actors didn't feel great seeing all those empty seats!!!
