My daughter, who is watching an episode of Back at the Barnyard in which horror movies are parodied, turns to me while chewing (obnoxiously) on her gum and queried, "Mom, how come in scary movies, the girl is always attacked by the monsters and the boy has to, um, come rescue her?"

I replied, "because boys are the ones making scary movies."

Anyone have a better answer?
