Chapter 9
Joe eyes flutterd opend and he rolled over onto his back.
"Man! Your good" He smiled at Kristen
Kristen smiled back and helped the older man stand up
"Um...guys!" John cried out.
Joe and Kristen looked over. Zombies were slowly exiting the circle in the middle of the floor
"Protect Zach!" Joe called out, rushing over and kicking one away from his younger brother
"How the hell do you kill these things?!" John asked, knocking one down, it shook it's head and stumbled upright
"By removing the head, or destroying the brain" Joe yelled back.
Kristen ran to the wall, grabed 2 battle axes and tossed them to the boys.
John and Joe grabbed them both mid-air, positioned themselves back to back and started swinging at the creatures emerging from the floor.
Chris meanwhile was still fighting with Karl. Who was obviously an older and much stronger vampire. Chris was starting to slow down. His punches seem to take longer to reach Karl, who simply blocked them.
"Give up Christopher. You can't save your boyfriend"
Chris growled and stood up straighter.
Both men looked over when they heard shouting coming from Joe and John, who were both slashing Zombies
"Excellent!!" Karl cried out "It's working!"
He reached back and punched Chris in the jaw, making the younger vampire fly back and slam into the wall.
Chris landed on the floor with a loud "oof"
"Chris! Are you ok?" John asked rushing over
Chris nodded and slowly stood up
Kristen gasped when he saw Karl approch Zachary again, the knife in his hand
"Joe! Be ready!" She yelled running towards Karl and bringing both her hands up
Karl turned around and laughed
"You can't stop me girl. Your weak"
Chris and John watched as Kristen closed her eyes and seconds later a loud whooshing noise came from her. The white light made everyone close their eyes and look away.
Within seconds the light stoped, John watched as Kristen collaped onto the dirty floor. He ran over and lifted her head onto his lap.
The bright circle in the floor slowly closed and the cave went dark.
"What did you do!?" Karl shouted
"Kill..him..." Kristen moaned
Joe reached down, picked up the fallen sword and stalked towards Karl
Karl's eyes went wide in fear, it was obvious he couldn't move.
"This is for my brother! Asshole!!" He yelled, bringing up the sword and swinging it down, it sliced Karl's head clean off.
Joe dropped the sword, with a loud clang, and ran to Zachary. He undid the cuffs and dragged his younger brother a few feet away, laying him down.
"Zach" He said, running a hand over Zach's forehead
Chris ran over to John and Kristen.
"Is she...alright" he asked softly, already fearing the answer.
Kristen was white and her breathing getting more shallow by the second
John shook his head as he softly ran his hands through her hair
Chris!!" Joe yelled
Chris ran over and knelt down
"He's not moving! Do something" Joe begged
Chris reached out and felt Zach's pulse and listend to his heart.
"The only thing that would save him is if I turned him. He's so weak to survive this on his own"
"Then do it! Turn him. Please" Joe responded "My mom can't lose a son, and I can't lose a brother"
Chris sighed and nodded
He leaned forward and slowly lowerd his fangs into Zach's neck. He drank slowly, making sure Zach's heart rate slowed to the minimum.
Pulling out, he bit into his own flesh
"Zach..I need you to drink this ok? Trust me" Chris said, slowly bringing his wrist to Zach's mouth.
Joe watched as Zach's eyes snapped open. He leaned forward, grabbed Chris's wrist and pulled it to his mouth.
"Ug!" Joe cried out looking away
Chris moaned and pulled his arm away
Zach's eyes slowly closed and he head lolled to one side.
"Is he alright!?" Joe asked
"For now. We have to get him to the hospital"
Chris jumped awake when he felt Zach shift in the hospital bed. He lifted his head and looked down at the man sleeping next to his head.
Chris had been staying with Zachary since they carried him out of the cave and right to the hospital. Joe had been in the waiting room answering questions for the past few hours. Telling them everything he knew. With the exception of the zombie.
"Hey" Chris said softly as he saw Zach's eyes opening
Zach smiled quickly and shifted in the bed, groaning at the pain in his shoulders
"What...what happend? Last thing I remember is being bitten by Karl"
Chris explained the event, and watched Zach closely.
"So....I'm a vampire?" Zach asked
"Kinda. Your more half. You had some of my blood but we got you here soon enough, so they gave you some human blood as well. Some of you sences might be hightend, and you'll be as healthy as a horse"
Zach blinked and looked around his room
"Is someone snoring in here?"
Chris shook his head and listend.
"Zach, baby, that's coming from 3 rooms over"
Zach closed his eyes and smiled
"Thank you" Zach said, reaching out and taking Chris's hand "For everything"
A knock on the door made them both jump
Joe opend the door and peaked his head inside
"Everything alright?"
Zach sat up and grinned
"Joe! Thank god your alright"
"Chris, they need to talk to you"
"I'll be back soon" Chris said, squeezing Zach's hand and leaving the room

"Chris, they need to talk to you"
