The crew in my backyard who are taking down the pine trees have wrecked half of the magnolia. It's a sad sight for me, when I look out and see so little of the tree which has always been so full and relatively symmetrical. It is now unbalanced and bare. It's a hardy tree, though, so it will survive. It will likely require around 10 years to fully recover, but recover it will. The crate myrtle, though, has been so severely butchered that I don't know if it will survive or not. I'll make walking sticks of the fallen limbs of them both. The crate myrtle is hard wood. It should produce a good one.
Note to self: get Björk b-sides, you always like them.
