30 Rock, Of Mothers And Midlife Crises
Jack, she’s determined, is having a midlife crisis. Again.
One of those ones where he decides he doesn’t want to die alone and asks some random, unknown, hollow boned chick with vertigo and a fake English accent to marry him. And his mother comes to town and mistakes her for his fiancé. Basically forces her to go to dinner with them, corners her to ask if she likes the woman and causes Jack to have a heart attack and the hospital to call Liz in the middle of a rehearsal……
Ok so she’s overreacting just a little but she’s still in shock so she can if she wants to.
She should calm down, however, and remember that this time his mother can’t mistake her for his fiancé if he even tells her he’s engaged again, which she doubts he will do by the way.
Anyway, his mother can’t mistake her for his fiancé because she is his fiancé. Which she’s decided she actually likes the sound of.
So maybe Jacks not the one having a midlife crisis after all. Well not the only one at least. Maybe Liz is having a midlife crisis all of her own, and maybe, just maybe, she enjoying it.
