Totally, and completely Sifi's fault, I tell you!
I mean, you can't post a speculation thread, start a really good discussion, and expect NOT to have plot bunnies jumping at you from every possible direction, can you?
So it's totally her fault.
As for those damn bunnies - first of all, I gave up and wrote the story of the night(s) after the fire from Dean's POV - sort of continuing 'Out of Our Element'. I need to edit it, probably need a beta, but I'll post it. Eventually. Maybe. Eh.
Now, as for those speculations and bunnies -
Sifi noted Stan telling Sam it was always about him. And I think Demons lie. And I think Stan lied. If it was always about Sam, what does he need the other kids for? So it wasn't about Sam, or at least, not JUST Sam.
I mean, I get why he'd lie - messing with Sam's mind at a critical point like that would help push him, guilt him into distancing himself from Dean, who's a (sort of ) good influence on him, push him farther into his own doubts and despair and all that emo crap. But I do think Stan lied. It's not just about Sam. There are other generations, other kids. He so totally lied. And I'm a Deangirl, so it's about Dean. There. Deal.
Next, she reminded us of what Stan told Dean - That if a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is. That he had never stopped to think of the reason why he had gotten a better deal than his father.
So, on the one hand - Stan wanted that deal cuz it meant Sam was 'back in rotation'. But the evol plot bunny that just got out of hell insists that there's more to it than that. Sam's back, yes, but Dean got a year. So... what? There's something Stan needed Dean to accomplish in that year? Some deadline? A Deeemonic plan? And then what? Are they preparing a special place for him in Hell? Giving the other demons time to get out of there before Dean gets there and kicks their collective asses? There's something there. Unless TETIK lets someone else write the episodes, again, and then who cares.
Mary's death... Wow. I mean, we've sort of speculated she had something to do with that. I have 3 unwritten stories about that - her making a deal with Stan, her trading one son for another, her having visions of Stan coming and trying to prepare the boys... Many, many bunnies here.
Stan said Mary's death was an accident. Was he lying? He didn't kill all the mothers. He wouldn't've killed Rosy's mother had she not gotten in the way (and he didn't, cuz Sam saved her, but that's not the point). Stan doesn't just go around burning mothers on the ceiling. It's not his MO, just a way to tie up loose ends.
But...
What if... She recognized him. What if she was one of the special children herself? No way was Sam's generation the first, so what happened to earlier generations? She hadn't found the Colt, so she couldn't free Stan. Maybe he was biding his time, waiting to send her into action. Maybe she was meant to give birth to Sam. Or maybe it's not just about Sam.
Sam and Dean together are a force to be reckoned with. Maybe she was meant to give birth to both. Maybe she managed to protect Dean from Sam's fate. Maybe she was meant to raise the boys a certain way, but refused?
About the Colt. Seriously, Stan, what were you thinking? I get that you needed the gun to open the gates of hell, but did it REALLY have to be loaded? That was a rookie mistake. Which makes me think something (?) else is pulling the strings here.
And will Sam lose his powers now that Stan's dead fell on pie? And Pretzels? Really? Ellen was saved cuz of pretzels? I don't buy it. Nor the fact that Ash couldn't just get away for a moment and use another payphone, or hell, just borrow someone's cell and call Dean.
TETIK, seriously, you HAVE GOT to start writing more episodes yourself, or at least let Shiban write them, cuz the others are ruining it. I mean, what is it I hear about love interests as regulars in season 3? Does that make sense to you? Seriously? The boys move around all the time, when do they have the time to form an acutual relationship? And Dean falling in love? The guy's got a year to live. He needs 5 just to open up to someone. I'll never buy that he fell in love with someone so quickly. It's a REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD IDEA. Get rid of it before you lose viewers, K?
Tis all for now.
I'm gonna shoot some more bunnies before they have the chance to jump on me.
Bye for now...
