Yeah, took me a while, but I couldn't stop myself in the end.
First, to all you John haters - IN YOUR FACE.
It's canon now. Dean has no idea what to do with a baby, meaning he wasn't the one who took care of Sam, or he woulda remembered (and trust me, you change someone's diapers, you remember it...). So that means he never had to, which means John, while obviously FUBAR, did his fatherly duties (keeping the boys fed, cleaned and potty trained). Ha.
Ahm.
Now that that's off my chest, to the rest of the episode.
WTH?
Seriously?
I've read that one before, guys. Been reading it for a while now, actually, and about a month ago there was actually an update so... Yeah. That one? Totally a fanfic.
And not even a good one.
I mean, fine. The boys and the baby - there were a couple of aww moments. I mean, that tiny fella melting with smiles every time Dean looked back? Awww.
That.... was pretty much it for me. The rest was full of eyerolls (and wondering how much Parker Lewis has aged...)
I'm sorry, the whole thing just does not make sense. At all.
Let's start with Sam, ok? So you go hunting alone. ... Why? Have you never watched Show? You don't go hunting alone, I don't care if you've got grandpa on speed dial, you just don't do it.
And then calling Dean for an SOS cuz of the baby? Seriously?
I mean, I might have bought it there for a second, but then the first sign of trouble and what does Sam do? Go to grandpa.
So why not go there in the first place and leave your brother the hell out of it?
He said he wanted out, you pushed him out, so what the hell, dude?
And that bit with the having no idea how to care for a baby, that got me dizzy I was rolling my eyes so much. If Dean doesn't have a clue about anything baby related, why the hell would Sam call him (other than the script saying so)?
I don't trust Sam, but moreso, I don't trust neither grandpa nor the cousins.
Also, was I the only one that felt bitchslapped totally betrayed when Christian mentioned Dean as a torturer in Hell?
I mean, the only way he'd know it was if Sam had told them, and why the hell would Sam do that?
I get wanting to come clean, admitting he was the reason Lucifer walked free. And for that, yeah, sure, he'd need some background about the seals, and maybe about Dean going to Hell and breaking the first one. ... .. Actually, no, he could probably have skipped that little bit of info, especially since he was doing it behind his brother's back.
But the whole torture thing? Totally need to know, and they didn't. That felt wrong.
Kinda wished 6.01 was the end, ya know? Dean choosing normal, and the boys going their own ways.
This, this is too angsty all over again. This is Dean no longer having normal, but not really having a family anymore either.
His brother has chosen strangers over him, AGAIN. And don't give me that whole 'they're family' thing, cuz the boys never knew they existed before, so yeah, strangers.
And Bobby was another bitchslap betrayal. Yeah, he did it for the right reasons, doesn't mean it doesn't still sting.
So... Can we just pretend this never happened?
I know I'm gonna.
