So.
There are apparently a couple of writers in Show's writing room that can totally teach the writers from last week how you suppose to do it.
I mean, take this week's episode.
It was cliche. It was freaky Friday and a dozen movies and a gazillion fanfics. The idea's been done to death.
And yet, it was GOOD!
I think the only thing that really bothered me about it was that stupid banner thing that popped up when not!Sam was flexing his muscles... ^__~
Yeah, the story probably had some flaws, but I couldn't give a crap. I liked it. Kept waiting for Dean to realize what was going on.
And then that whole 'we're going to kill Dean' thing. Did NOT see that coming, which was great. But even more great? I never once stopped to think 'hey, Sam's not in his meatsuit - maybe that other guy's gonna say yes'.
That? That was what made a good episode great.
So if Show can still bring it like that, why put on episodes that are so... guh like the one from last week? Ones that are so full of potential but go nowhere? Seriously, that was worse than Bugs in my book.
Also, these little remarks, that little role switch between Sam and Dean are kinda interesting. How Sam had lost interest in the life he'd worked so hard to run away to - that apple pie life, the wife, the kids - everything he still wanted in season 1. And Dean, the guy who said in Bugs that he'd rather put a bullet through his head than live in a place like that - with a picket fense and a yard and a wife and 2.4 kids and a dog - - it's not the first time this season he hinted to wanting that now.
Interesting.
ETA: Ok, fine. It is very possible that I enjoyed this episode and thought it was good because of the suckyness of last week's episode. Fine. I still liked it.
