Well since Tuesday it has been snowing pretty heavily here in Guildford, which as a result meant we got a snow day!
Tuesday was spent gazing out of the window during seminars and library at the snow flurries floating down onto the ground. It was quite amusing actually because due to Surrey being on a hill, the top of it (where I live) was snowing a little bit and when you got to the bottom at the management building square it was like a blizzard!
Lectures continued on Wednesday, well I only had one and the lecturer that was supposed to have taken it never turned up. So we got the other hospitality lecturer who knew nothing about the topic so just read from the powerpoint and asked us questions, expecting an answer about a topic we have never done before!
Afternoon was spent being brave, going to tesco. I only needed orange juice so didn't have a need to go, but I went anyway with Max and Tim. The paths were extremely icy so spent most of the time skidding and trying not to fall over or into Tim. But I survived!
During the evening, a flatmate Navi and I retreated to the library to do some reading for my Marketing lecture, on the way home it started snowing pretty heavily and it was the first time all week I came out without a hat. I was rather cold when I got back in! Not long later a pretty big layer of snow had fallen, so we (the flat and I) went out around midnight for a snowball fight. That was so much fun! Had such a laugh pushing each other over and attacking with the snow. During our snowy adventures we came across a deserted field which is probably private land but we still walked around. The snow was pretty deep-knee high; we called it Narnia :)
Today has been a snowday due to Southwest trains freaking out over not that much snow. The day itself was immensely boring as we just stayed in the flat and caught up on various programmes on iplayer etc. I also lost my appetite despite going out to Chancellors, a bar on campus, for burger and chips. Not like me!
This evening we went back to Narnia and gazed at the pretty view of the town and fields beyond :) Then went on a walk around the campus, the lake being very pretty in the snow and praying it will be the same tomorrow!
