first day back to work since februay 27th. whoa. i must say it was quite a productive day. i got put in charge of designing my company's new website, and i'm pretty stoked. i like being creative like that.

last night i went on the hunt for internships. i definitely found a few that caught my attention, but as everyone knows - the shitty thing about MOST internships is that you don't get paid. [bummer] my monthly train pass alone is just about $250.00, daily cab fare will be at least $25.00. oh friggin christ, this is going to be an expense.

the one internship i'm aiming for kinda goes like this: [taken from the website]
"We encourage interns to work a 5 day work week which will allow them the opportunity to see through from beginning to end any projects they may work on - this also means that we can offer an intern more interesting and complex work. Daily tasks include but are not limited to reviewing submitted demo material, tour related press and radio supervision, seeing artist contracts and being able to familiarize themselves with the daily activities of artist management and entertainment consulting, phones and other general office duties. Interns will also have the option of attending live shows (free of charge) and a variety of events where they will be able to begin networking within the music industry."

sounds amazing doesn't it? to be honest i'm keeping my fingers crossed on it. i'd love to intern at this place. i really would love to work in the music industry. swear i would. lately though, i'm debating whether medical advertising would be a more secure field. the music industry is a rough place. anyone who works in it, will tell you that. you get tossed around like a friggin salad, NO ONE is really your friend, you occasionally get the prima donnas that you have to kiss-ass constantly [no matter how much you hate it], and as easily as you can make it, they can break you just as fast. it's very hard for women too. not to sound like a feminist or anything, but let's face it.. the music industry has way more men running it than women, and when a pretty girl works for a record company, they get treated like a piece of meat.. i can't even begin to tell people about the times i worked at music conventions in the city or at different colleges and had sleezeball executives attempting to grope my goodies and trying to impress me by telling me about the tons of money they make. [same thing just happened to my friend nicole too.] to think that these are people i may eventually have to work with really turns me off. i'm thinking that maybe i'll intern at a medical advertising firm after my little run-in with the entertainment field and see which career looks more promising. haha.

so anyways, my mom and i are really hooked on the flavor flav "flavor of love" show. seriously, i'm all about hoops. ever since episode 1. if he picks that other psycho, my fist just may go through my television screen.

last night i was graced with some interesting phone calls. i'm starting to learn the hard way that maybe i shouldn't give out my cell number as easily as i do. but in case you're one of the lucky ones that have it, continue to call me with the prank shit. it's fun. keeps me entertained.

that's all for now.
