Early morning posting

Feels strange being on here this early. Normally I'd potter around on a routine in the morning getting ready to leave work and not touch the computer. This morning hubby has borrowed my car, so I'm getting a lift from my boss for a meeting that starts at 8.30am with the head office bigwig directors. So I've made sure I'm ready with ages to spare.

Weekend was excellent. A good mix of people and lots of different things to do. Kareoke, films, board games.

This week I've lost 0.25 lbs. Still a teeny loss. My fault really for upping my alcohol intake, and still diving for the choccy biccies at work. They've been in the fridge at work for 6 weeks minimum, so that does prove that they are being eaten by us all in moderation.

So today is either going to be very hit or miss. I've been working hard, but I know there's still room to work harder or perhaps better, more efficient - call it what you like. Rather than jumping to everyone else's aid straight off, with getting to know the extra workload I've been more selfish in the office and the strain is showing as I'm not keeping everyone ticking along nicely. Normally I'd jump up, smooth over whatever the problem is they are muttering about, or have the answers off the top of my head, and multitask to my hearts content.

Yesterday I heard my previous boss in the other room muttering at his laptop (the latest one I had to take back ages ago *sulk*). I wasn't ready to leap up and shouted that I'd be 5-10 mins and by the time I wandered through he'd got pissed off and pulled all the network cables out, packed it away and was getting out his original old laptop *sigh* All he has to do is turn off one automatic security programme on the latest model (the difference between connecting in remotely when in or out of the office into the HQ server) and it would work. But no, he's not capable of doing that on a daily basis, and I'm sick of having to do it for him.

I'm getting a little worried that I may start telling the bigwigs what I think without the normal degree of tact if they start knocking the general running of the office. I *know* I can improve it and the sales team, I just haven't been given the chance or inclination to do so yet. I've only been back at work 8 weeks, and half of that has been doing the combination of jobs, so I'm still finding my routine. Also with experimenting and refinding my legs (literally) it's a new transition, and I don't think anyone really understands or appreciates the combination of excitement and confusion of that for me. Sure it'll wear off once everything suddenly feels routine, but for now it's still a learning curve.

Anyway, onto other things. I need advice - from girls or boys. I'll probably post a poll later once a few of you throw in suggestions.

Hair? The roots are showing and I'm almost ready for a change. I've had various shades of red for 7 years and I'm no longer sure if it's a good or bad thing as nobody ever tells me automatically if it looks ok or not. Honesty appreciated. Always.

I'm thinking darker base - maybe with red underlayer, or a couple of people have suggested red ends (not sure of that one though)
