I'd like to point out on this glorious St. Patrick's Day that Purim is totally a better party holiday, and not just because The Morning News said so. But their article is really entertaining.... and Purim wins!
Seriously, though, what's better than a holiday that declares getting drunk not just acceptable, but a MITZVAH (that translates to commandment, in case you aren't in the know). Also, there are costumes, and awesome cookies. It's like St. Patrick's Day combined with Halloween without all that pesky satanism! Plus, it's got great heroes and villains, loud noises in the temple, and feminism. What's not to like? Those early Jews, they really covered all the bases.
Full disclosure: I didn't even realize it was Purim until Jake got some Hamentaschen delivered to his house. But next year, my friends. Next year is going to be CRAZY.
